Reporting your child’s absence

It is essential that you report your child’s absence from nursery by 9.30am either by telephone or email. or

Start/ Finish times.

All parents/carers sign a lateness policy before their child starts at the nursery.  Can I please remind parents to make sure all children are dropped off and collected at their allocated time. All children have staggered start/finish times due to COVID-19 guidelines.  The gate and door will only be opened at certain times during the day. Please be punctual and ensure you social distance when waiting for the gate to open.

Black History

October is black history month and to celebrate we are carrying out activities covering the Caribbean and African culture. This year the children will be celebrating Black History month through a music and movement online event. In this session IJAHMO will perform nursery rhymes given a reggae make over with some traditional Igbo rhymes. For children ages 0-6 years to dance along. If you have any traditional music, food, clothes please bring them in to share with the children.

Family photos

Can all parents please email family photos for staff to add to Tapestry and to display in their room on the family tree –

Nappies and wipes need to be replenished weekly.  Please give them to a member of staff to make sure they are put away correctly.

As you know, the council has a no arrears policy, please make sure your fees are paid on time.  If you fall behind there is a chance you could lose your nursery place.  All fees are to be paid via bank transfer to avoid handling cash payments, the most efficient way is to set up a standing order, you can do this through your bank. Please email if you need the bank details.

Uniforms are for sale in the office, we would like to encourage all children to wear them.  The cost of the uniform is £7.00 for polo shirt and £9.00 for a sweatshirt. Please make sure you clearly label all child’s belongings (jackets, jumpers and lunch bags) to avoid loss or taking the wrong item’s home. Payments must be made via bank transfer. Please email if you need the bank details.

Stationary bag and Navy backpacks

Due to COVID-19 we must help prevent cross contamination and eliminate the risk of spreading the infection therefore, all children have been provided with an individual stationary bag which includes pens, pencils, glue etc. A navy backpack has also been provided for their change of clothes/belongings. Both bags are COMPULSORY and cost a total of £10.00. We advise you pay via bank transfer to avoid handling cash payments. Copies of the bank details are available at reception. If you have any question regarding these bags please speak to Jo, Rebecca or Courtney.

Applying for Primary Schools

If your child is born between 01/09/2016 – 31/08/2017 you will need to apply for a primary school place by January 2021.  This is done on line through your local authority.  Some schools require supplementary forms.  If you need any help please speak to Jo.

If you have any concerns about your child’s development, in any area, please come and speak to Emma. Speech and language, behaviour, physical and she will be able to advise you.
